Electronic damping control malfunction

Hi guys, I have a 2007 e70 x5 4.8
I've been getting this annoying message pop up and I'm wondering if someone can point me in the right direction. I don't want to spend $130 or whatever it is for the dealer to tell me I need to replace the front struts (satellites?).
I have a background repairing electronics (I own a cellphone repair shop and work with boards and tiny soldering repairs) and I would really like to take a dab at it first before I spend $1-2k in repairs. After all, I might be able to fix it and in the long run help others in the same boat as me in the future.
Ran bmwhat and I'm getting error
"HSensor signal VL BMW 630F"
"HSensor signal VR BMW 6310"

I'm not exactly sure what it could be but I recently acquired this vehicle and I knew about this issue beforehand (no background info on what caused it)
No ride height issues.
I'm not exactly sure what the error means.. sensor is bad? connection issue?
If someone can shed some light, I can take a dab at it and post back with results. Thanks
