The lower seating surface is around 22" long (front edge to seatback). That's living room couch size thigh support (to the knee).

While shopping for used E53s at BMW dealers, a few dealership employees commented that tall customers seem to find the sport seats the choice for comfort. Tall customers complained about numb butts and sharp pain/cramps in lower legs.
