I solved the key problem by for my Bimmers by buying a key cutter for $135 and a key programmer for about $30 off of AliExpress. Since both my SAV's use the same type of key security, for less than the cost of a single key from the dealer, I have the ability to make and program my own keys. The blanks are readily available on AliExpress and the programmer works as advertised. Be aware that the low cost blanks for remote keys are available with and
without the battery charging circuitry. The cheap ones do not charge the battery in the remote when placed in the ignition.
