I was just curious if the relay would cause this as another thread says the plugs are also used under light load to maintain cylinder temp for smoothness. The revs dropped this morning (cold weather and car) first driving under light load on an incline but after 10-15 mins of driving it didn't play up at all.
Re. the plugs coming on to maintain cylinder temps under light loads etc., I understand that this is the case but it's more about engine emissions and cleanliness and I doubt it would actually affect the RPMs in any way.

Mine does seem to run a bit smoother than when it had four dead plugs (or four dead controller outputs - same thing in the end) but I changed the exhaust manifold on the same day so I can't say exactly which repair made this change.
