And does that correspond with the missing rib on the old belt that works? And if you are brave enough to flip that belt (so ribs 123456 are now running in grooves 654321) does bad stuff happen?

BTW, I always heard that you should never change the direction of a belt after installing it (and like many things automotive, this advice was given with no explanation). Did not make sense to me until I figured it would be this groove potential issue where after a while the belt's ribs either survive or not (or wear to accommodate) in the grooves it's got and makes it work. But if flipping, all bets are off. Anyone know if that's right or other factors are involved in that never-flip directions advice?
