andrewwynn will become famous soon enough
A buddy of mine forgot to hook up the main fuel line. It will spray like a fire hose it will do so key on engine off so just turn the key on and listen for the fuel pump to charge and stop while you are standing outside the car and can look for leaks. You are not likely to get any unless you missed something big like he did.

His was worst case scenario and he didn't do the check and tried stubbornly to start the car for a while until about a pint of gas worked it's way down the firewall and made a puddle under the car. Nothing will be hot enough to cause ignition so it's very low risk.

Doing the timing requires hand cranking the engine so you should have already done that I can't think of a reason to do it again but it won't hurt either. 20" or so ratchet long enough to crank with plugs in. It's stiff no doubt though.
