If you get quiet slip in the drivetrain (rpm climbs but not kph), then the implication is the clutch is worn out. The clutch can also make a "chatter" sound when It fails.

If you get a pop/snap sound as you engage the clutch and add power that is similar to the video I just linked, then it's almost certainly the front drive shaft spline. There is a kit to add a couple cm to the length of the drive shaft and will fix that problem if that is the problem.
