It’s only as that was the fix on the e61 if your gearbox started playing up post a fluid change. Was just a thought as they are almost the same box. But mine was a LCi 2008.

It was always the case that the old fluid usually needed less pressure to clamp the clutch plates due to being higher viscosity and it being laden with friction material that’s come off the plates. So the new fluid needed a reset if you had left it too long so the G/B could learn the new pressures required to make the correct gears with the “thinner” new fluid.

But you only needed to do it the the box started ‘slipping’ post a fluid change.
