I was more curious as to your reasoning than posing as opposing position having worked on and servicing both systems. Personally, I emphasize personally, I have had the experience of it being easier to cross thread a nut onto a stud than to damage the threads of the hub using a bolt. Now it was a fairly simple matter to replace the stud in the hub as you say. But I much prefer mounting a hub centric wheel using bolts.
