The SAS is your Steering Angle Sensor. This sensor has little wire brushes that rotate around a resistive circle to report an angle via CAN data. You can VERY easily look at the data for this module and use the steering wheel to turn back and forth to verify logical data.

If you have INPA, you can very easily use this tool and look at the SAS module.

Unfortunately this sensor is a wear-item. It is actually not too hard to change as you just need to lay on your back while under the driver's foot-well.

If you need help with this, create a new thread and I can easily walk you through it using INPA.
