With there being so many speakers in the X5 I opted for the Tim "the Toolman" Taylor option of 2x 500/5 JL Slash V1 amps and 1x 1000/1 Slash V1 to drive everything with it's own Xover and separate level adjustment. Obviously overkill, and I don't have any of it in the truck yet sooooo yeah. All the gear is just sitting on a shelf waiting for the kids to grow up
Edit: The fix86 looks like it would work from reading the description. But that price though. You like nice gear. I think I'd try the bass blocker option if I was sure that the amp wasn't unhappy with the load I was presenting it and causing the distortion.

Thanks CW. Yes, I am driving front and rears with mx280/4. I have the factory amp bypassed because it died on me. I can get a lightly used Fix86 for around $200 OR my interest was peaked when researching alternatives to Eonon and found the Avin Avant4. I'm curious to know if that would be plug'n'play to replace the Eonon unit I have. It is a bit steep at like $700 loaded up with the right features. I know that a lot of people have been relatively happy with their Eonon head units but I could not find anything through search about the Eonon GA9449 which looks to be MUCH faster than mine AND adds CarPlay. It is advertised for E39 only 8/10 times and E39&E53 2/10 times. Very scientific sampling - I KNOW. Anyway, that newer Eonon unit would not solve my DSP problem, but for $218 it IS tempting compared to the Avin unit. This all feels like a random thought dump, but I was hoping someone might chime in who has at least looked closely at the GA9449 as a referenece and this thread could help find them
