I'll also admit that I *meant to replace the locknuts. But when ordering the giant box of parts for the entire front suspension overhaul, I ended up getting the wrong ones - luckily, I accidentally ordered a bag of the lower ball joint nuts that I hadn't even thought about replacing!
Ended up just reusing the old shock locknuts. The torque value on these was huge - like 180 ft-lbs I think? I gave myself an arm workout getting them off, but they cleaned themselves in the process.
