Tried to unplug the IBS...still 18+ volts.
Got junkyard alternator (alternator and voltage regulator are special order at all local parts store). Swapped out voltage regulator. No more problems!
I am in disbelief that this is what happens when the voltage regulator goes bad. Actually kind of dangerous as I almost wasn't able to get off the road. I guess gone are the days that your lights start to dim then you're battery lights come on. I thought something was really screwed up.
So follow up questions: anyone local to Denver that can program the battery?
