Over 5 tons of force at normal torque.

The spec torque for 10.9 M12 is 122 Nm. That is 75% of yield 160 ish should be yield hence "nowhere near". You can stress a steel bolt effectively ∞ times if below 75% of yield. It acts just like a spring.
