Yep I was going to try with wire brush too and might still do that but after lubing it it just catches a bit and only on the first try inserting after the other key then works fine after that until I switch keys again. The Viscotene is fantastic on locks, any locksmith would probably say it is too sticky but I have been using it for 40 years and had my own shop for some of those and lubed many hundreds of locks and always worked flawlessly. Back in the day it was the ticket to keep door locks from freezing and was part of the winterizing package at my shop, never did I hear of anyone having a lock freeze after the Viscotene! It's a bit messy on the key but worth the extra trouble of wiping it a few times.
