Factory6speed is on a distinguished road
I did get ISTA to work last night. Nothing too bad in there really, no DME codes. Cleared whatever was in there, reset the adaptations, and reset the steering angle sensor since there was a bizarre code about it and I did change some of the control arms and the axles. I probably should get this thing aligned soon. Anyway

I bought this cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017IG81SQ...roduct_details

Switch on it is to the left. That's where it came. Moving it to the right never did anything, it eventually finally worked when I pushed it back to the left.

I had to install the drivers for the cable. It came with a CD, but I can't read those anymore, so I asked the guy and he sent me an INPA download RAR file that had the drivers I needed inside of it. Once I ran that batch file things started to go the right direction. Ftdi drivers .. Ftdibus.inf and ftdiport.inf are needed for the cable.

I also had to edit the edibas.ini file. There are two copies, i don't know which it actually uses, but there's one edibas in the root of the C drive, and there's another edibas install dir inside of the rheingold directory.

I had to change both of these edibas.ini files to say Interface=STD:OBD .. for the f30 enet cable this was Interface=Remote (hopefully I remember to change this back, and the ISTA connect settings)

I also had to edit and create an obd.ini file in the same directories,

Code:
[OBD]
Port=Com1
Hardware=USB
RETRY=ON
Then had to go into the device manager and on the USB com port that just newly showed up after installing the drivers, I had to change that from com3 to com1. Or it just needs to match the above file, could have added the file to say com3. Also need to set the latency time out to 1 in that page in device properties.

Lastly in ISTA go into the settings, the wrench icon at the top, and change it to use the edibas connection.

Works great for diag and troubleshooting. Soon I'll try esys and maybe I can code out the stupid lock and unlock beep.
