In my case, it's LED - but we're talking aftermarket rings - with turn/switchback function coming off the turns/parking lights. It behaves fine (switchbacks) with lows off.
The issues is the constant 12V (PWM) that comes into play with lows on.

I think turning off turn signals may shut/SHUNT the PWM 12 volt , but the PWM is causing the funky issues on the switchback rings. Regardless, I feel at the end of the day, I would still want running amber sides when lows are on (some level of sidelight visibility) than no lights on the side.
Sorry to revive an old thread, but I am also dealing with this setup, and have run into some flickering of my angel eye issue. I've attached a pic of the switchbacks I received. With the yellow wire connected to the positive of my parking lights/turn signals, the angel eyes will light up white, at half dimness when the parking lights are on, and will flash bright amber when the turn signal is activated. I have attached the white wire to a relay setup that is attached to the interior lights, and also the positive of my fog light so that my angel eyes will activate whenever the interior lights come on or i have my fog lights on, and only then do the angel eyes shine at 100% brightness. Is this a bad setup? I've already noticed one of my halos flickers when its at full brightness, and i'm wondering if its the PWM from the parking light that is causing my problem, or if i just have a bad driver for the switchback, cause its only happening on one light.
