just tried Griot's new Heavy-Duty Wheel Cleaner for the first time. I've never used Sonax so I can't compare them directly, but Griot's seems to have copied their color-changing formula trick. it definitely has a stronger yet still pleasant odor compared to Griot's standard Wheel Cleaner, but at $16.99 for 35oz it's $7 more than the standard stuff.

brake dust has never been a huge problem since I try to clean my wheels at least every other week, so the standard Wheel Cleaner usually does the trick pretty well. also I like to get in there with a brush or mitt and get the back of the spokes and wheel barrels. I think I'll save the Heavy-Duty stuff for winter time when I can't clean the wheels as often and it's too cold to get wet washing them by hand. until then, I'll stick with the standard stuff.

for being run year-round for over a decade, I think they still look pretty damn good!
