06 4.4 I do about 50 to 60k miles a year now. I do my own normal routine maintenance. My schedule for service is generally half of what BMW recommends, except for stuff like blades and brake fluid. I have done door handle carriers, rear brake lights, but no regulators. Tension arm bushings and sway end links.

I have changed the trans fluid 3 times, and filter once. There was very little silt in the pan. I relplaced the battery once.

I caved on the alternator and had dealer replace it.
