In many countries you are allowed to tow another vehicle using yours, thus a tow hook as a part of the tool kit. In the US the hook is used to pull the car onto a flatbed, that's all... In those places where you can tow your buddy's car as a favor to him, a "soft" link is prohibited (i.e. a rope), thus a hard link is used, where the tow bar is hooked to tow "eyes" on both cars...

my question is - this towbar seems to be a little too short for comfort, so i was wondering, if anyone actually had used it... BTW, the item is same for Mercedes, Audi and probably some other euro cars... we carry a spare tire (some of us, at least... lol...) might as well have something else useful...
