Have you considered the risk of buying an early production model of a new series? Many of us wait for the second year so they have a chance to resolve some of the issues that weren't sorted prior to start of production.
If you do want a first year model, rebates and discounts will vary on the market, ie production capacity vs market demand at any point in time. Calendar year end may prompt some sales, but so can the slow period in Jan-Mar when everyone is paying Christmas bills and not buying new cars. Very hard to predict.
