How do I replace angel eyes bulbs X5 E70 (Non xenon)

Does anyone know how to replace the Angel Eye parker bulbs in a 08 E70 X5 with halogen lights configuration (non Xenon). $$$ if I take it into BMW to do it.

Hey mate,

I am currently after the exact information you are asking with the non-xenon E70 headlights. I either replace the Angel Eyes with a fairly poor LED bulb to give it that more new look or look into purchasing a set of xenon E70 headlights. Would you be interested in a group buy? :D

Thanks but no thanks on the group buy. I just want to replace the bulbs with blue/white Phillips bulbs the best way possible but it looks like a pain in the wallet all the way.

It's a fairly easy and straightforward process to replace the Angel Eye bulb on a E70 X5. Would you like me to explain it to you? Or would you rather me send you a DIY? It's no pain in the wallet at all mate. Who's been telling you the wrong information about it being too hard to change the AE's on a Halogen E70 X5? That's a load of **** to me.

Thanks Rob, that would be great and I'm sure a few others would be interested too.
Cheers,

Use this link http://luxangeleyes.com/guides/LUX_H8_Install_X5.pdf

Ignore the extended wire and black box parts, just replace the bulb. If it doesn't sound straight forward to you, look at this DIY that has missing pictures.

Apparently the E70 X5 with halogen headlights uses a H7 AE bulb. Are you wanting to upgrade to LED AE bulbs?

Thanks for taking the time to get the link for me but the installation is for a Xenon lamp because the reflector compartment is where my High Beam bulb goes on non Xenon lights. On my lights the Ring Light bulb sits behind a screwed on box cover between the high beam and low beam projector lamp, where you can't get access to it. The only way I can see getting at it is from behind removing the wheel arch covers or removal of the lights from the front. Anyway I'll work it out and post the result. Thanks for the tip on bulb type, I may have been given incorrect advice.
BTW if you're interested in a power upgrade for your 35d, I've been using a DPChip box with great results on my 35d. Australian turned for Oz fuel quality and based in NSW not in the UK with UK quality. My X5 is a SUV that thinks it's a sports car now.

Cheers,

How did you go with the install OP? I am looking at changing my Halogen head lights to LED on my E70 X5 and was wondering which brand I should buy and why?

It seems like a difficult question as I can't seem to get the right one from someone who has done this with Halogen headlights. Is it possible? Surely, as if it wouldn't be.

Hey what do you mean by a group buy for xenon headlights
I want to change mine but I don't think it's so easy plug and play

Have you guys already changed the angel eyes with a whiter light in the halogene headlights ? What kind of bulb do I need?

I have now hid in the halogene headlights and the light spreads everywhere at night I can't see more as halogene bulbs

Hi mate,

I've been having the exact same problem as yourself. I can't gain access to the actual area where the bulbs are located. I'm unsure whether the front headlight unit needs to be removed to gain access to where the bulbs need to be inserted or if there is another way? Is this a job for the dealer or were you able to resolve this yourself?

Regards
