Enthusiast Auto Group in Cincinnati, OH is great

I was interested in an Imola Red with Alcantara X5 4.8is that was advertised at a non BMW dealer in Ohio (I'm in Seattle, so this would be a sight unseen purchase). I talked with the dealer several times, looked at many photos as well as the CarFax. All looked to be good with no issues, except for some curb rash on the wheels and an inoperable power mirror motor. The dealer agreed to take the X5 to Enthusiast Auto Group (EAG) about an hour south for a pre-purchase inspection prior to me booking a flight. Josh Bonati at EAG is the service manager and handled the entire process with professionalism and great communication.

It turns out there were numerous issues (cosmetic and mechanical) with the X5, enough for Josh to recommend me to not purchase it as it would likely become a maintenance nightmare. The issues were items that the dealer should have described or indicated existed and should have shown up in the CarFax. In short, a $110 PPI saved me many thousands of dollars and I'm sure many hours of frustration, not to mention the time I would have taken off of work to fly over and drive the vehicle home.

Unfortunately I probably won't be in Cincinnati any time soon, but if I was I wouldn't hesitate to take my BMW or Mini to them.
