When it comes to washer fluid, I would think any brand would work, unlike blinker fluid, which needs to be what BMW recommends.

thanks everyone for your input, but i remember reading that rain x deteriorates your windshield wipers.

It doesn't deteriorate your wipers. It makes them chatter due to the extra friction on the window caused by the rainx. If you have window chatter, clean them up and give em wipe downs with vinegar/water mix followed by alcohal/water mix. That leaves a squeeky clean window that beads water, therefor eliminating the need for rainx.
Also make sure you clean the rubber on the wipers every wash. |

There is a difference in washer fluids. Some of it clogs the system some of it is OK. As long as my X is under warranty I don't put anything in it that will alter or stop components from working. Reason? If it stops working it will be because of what they put in it not because of something I did. That way they have no excuse for not repairing it.
