I think the woman would get it if you told her I said it, she knows I'm a jokester! (by the way...she don't need no detailing!) I actually took Marta to get detailed last weekend cause we had a fancy party to go to Saturday night. She got her hair did and afterwards those Vietnamese ladies hooked her up with eyebrow pluckin' and manicure/pedicure in less than an hour Then I sprayed her down with Z6 and used the porter cable to buff the nails to a high gloss shine!

ncx: How long did it take to clay it, start to finish? And what brand did you use? I am having a detail shop clay the X and an S6 this weekend (they said 4hrs each whip), cuz I have the patience of a 4yr old on a sugar high....... and yeah; your X is a smokeshow.......

Thanks guys.
Streets... IMO, the claying process goes pretty quickly on a vehicle that is not in horrible condition. I have no patience really either. I used Meguires newest clay on this one and it took maybe 40 mins to do the X and then I went back and worked with a few spots that I thought needed a little more work. First time I've used clay off the shelf a the auto parts store. It did a terrific job but there isn't much in the kit. Keep in mind that my X is clayed at every major detail so the paint was not in bad condition like a car that has never been clayed. So some cars would definitely take longer to clay the first time. Hope that helps. Make sure to post pics of your rides after they get all shined up. |

Streetsoffire -
I think you need to clarify with your shop but at 4 hrs per clay, I suspect they would mean 4hrs to clay and polish. Claying is usually followed up with polishing IMO, as even the slightest micromarring will come out of claying. |
