Porter-Cable questions for Phil

I got my big box of products from you Phil. Thanks for the quick shipping.

I would like some more information on the pads that came with my P-C kit. Which color is for what? I've got the orange/green and black/white, and the all white that came with the P-C. I also got Menzerna 106 from you and I'll be waxing with 1Z Glanzwax.

Can you also suggest speeds and pressures for those particular products?

Thanks!

Sure thing:

Green - med cut
Orange - light cut
White - polishing
Black - finishing

106 can be used with orange or white depending on what you need to get rid of try a small spot first.

I would say 3 to start and up to 5 with medium pressure.

Thanks for the feedback. I am getting ready to bust it out for the first time work on some contamination caused by sprinkler overspray that left nasty hard water spots.

I'm also going to try the Menzerna 106 on the headlights as they are a little foggy from age.

Wish me luck!

You know you just obligated yourself to post alot of pictures of your finished car. If it doesn't glow in the dark, it's not good enough!

Man, there's no way I can get even close to the perfection Phil gets. I actually said that to myself last night while in my garage. I told myself, "Self, don't try to get as good as Phil. Just do the best you can and don't expect perfection."

I'll see what I can do. It's hotter than heck so the thought of doing the works is enough to make me pass out. None the less, I have started cleaning the engine and tried out some of the other stuff I got from Phil. I full wash-clay-wax-polish-wax will be done when it's not Africa hot.

Just make sure you have plenty of gatorade!

Having the right products and the right tools is half the battle. Your first car will come out looking good, guaranteed. It does take practice and skill to get it looking fantastic though... You'll have your stripes after you do a half dozen cars with the PC.
