Hey Phil, great thread BTW, I'm interested in starting to get into foaming my car through the winter, (08 jet black), I find the less contact with the paint in the winter the better as there is more damage done then good, even after extensive power washing.
so previous I would just bring my (05 silver E53) to a touchless car wash every week to rinse of salt, sand, grim and come spring-time wax the paint was always beautiful, so Q: I already have a pressure washer, what can you recommend I need to get started

thanks in advance

Leather
Not being an expert in leather could u tell me from the pics if i have real leather or is it leatherette? My understanding via other info on X5world (options) is that an '02 3.0i came standard with leatherette or Montana leather as an option.
I don't believe the leather (or leatherette) plus the seatbelts have been cleaned/detailed properly for some time, if ever. I intend to use 'Leatherique' which i believe is a worthy product.

Seatbelts
What would be the best product to clean the seatbelts without harming the integrity of the webbing. They are in a word, filthy.

In advance, thankyou.

Foomph
they look like leather but you can probably call up a bmw store and ask them to look it up with your vin number.

you can use Adam's Carpet and Upholstery cleaner on the seat belts that should work.

LMK what you find out from the BMW dealer.

I contacted my local BMW dealer today and they told me that all Beemers sold in Australia are trimmed out with leather. Apparently the leatherette was only used in the States on the early models.

Do you know if I can get hold of any Adam's Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner in Aust ?? Do you have any agents over here ??

Thanks for your help.

Hi Phil,

First let me say thanks for all the great tips and reviews, your detailing posts are very inspiring.

I own just about every product you sell except for a foam gun. I'm looking to purchase one, but I'm wondering how to use it properly. What is the next step after you foam the car? Do you use rinse bucket's to remove the foam and dirt? Do you start washing the car with soup and water while the foam is still on the car? Or do you rinse off the foam and then wash with soap and water.

Thanks!
Justin
