Detailer's Domain: Z06 Paint Correction/Swissvax Mystery

I'll let the pictures do the talking on this one.

What was done -
Exterior

- Wheels were prepped with Sonax Wheel Cleaner and cleaned up with various brushes
- Tires were spritzed down with Adam's All Purpose Cleaner and washed down
- Wheel wells were cleaned up
- Wash down and rinsed
- Door jambs were cleaned up
- Clayed
- Dried
- Tires dressed
- Masking
- 3 Step Paint correction (Meg's M105 with an Uber Yellow Pad, Menzerna Super Intensive Polish with an Uber Green and Menzerna PO85RD with an Uber Blue)
- Inspection with Fenix, 3m Sun Gun, Infratech, and natural sunlight
- Last Step - Swissvax Mystery
- Rubber and Plastics Treated
- Exterior windows and mirrors cleaned and sealed
- Exhaust tips cleaned

great job. i've noticed that those GM cars seem to have a really good coat of paint on them these days. Like the escalade, denali, and corvette specifically. what do you think?

the vettes are a bit of a pain to work on...but the paint looks good for sure now.

Phil.... do you find standard black to be the most time-consuming paint color to correct/detail? Just curious.

yes sir! we did a 2010 A4 recently took wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more time than I quoted. we now have a black paint tax lol.

That Darth Vader Z06 makes my '02 C5 Vert look like
a girlie car, by comparo...that is a Titz ride and detail, imo.

Ahh, the love and hate relationship with black paint. This is why I turned the white X5 into the roadtrip car vs the black 740iL!

Came out great. I really like seeing the 50/50 splits even when I do it myself. Do you claybar with just tap water? I've always used spray detailer, but if tap water works just as good to help it slide around, that'd be much easier and more affordable.
