Detailer's Domain: Mini Cooper Clubman

Mini Cooper Clubman

Customer wanted all scratches and swirls removed. Exterior only on this one.
Swissvax Shield was used as a last step as this is a daily driven car, and we are approaching the winter months.

What was done -
Exterior

- Wheels were prepped with Sonax Wheel Cleaner and cleaned up with various brushes
- Tires were spritzed down with Adam's All Purpose Cleaner and washed down
- Wheel wells were cleaned up
- Wash down and rinsed
- Door jambs were cleaned up
- Clayed
- Dried
- Tires dressed
- Masking
- 2 Step Paint correction (Meg's M105 with an Uber Green Pad, Menzerna Super Finish with an Uber Blue)
- Inspection with Fenix, 3m Sun Gun, Infratech, and natural sunlight
- Last Step - Swissvax Shield
- Rubber and Plastics Treated
- Exterior windows and mirrors cleaned and sealed
- Exhaust tips cleaned
- Windows were clayed and sealed

SJCFlyer is on a distinguished road
Really nice job! We have both a Mini Cooper S Convertible and a new '11 X5d. I'm curious if you think you could get similar results with an X5, as their paint quality doesn't seem near as good as the Mini's -- the base coat is pretty "textured/orange peel looking" and they just doused it with clear coat to make is shiney. I doubt the clearcoat is even that thick. Could something like that be brought up to the reflection level you got this Mini to?

its unfortunate but you're right BMW paint is not all that good looking.

I have seen people wetsand their complete car but you do take a bit of clear off
