Detailer's Domain: BMW M3 Competition Package - Alpine White

This beautiful BMW M3 e92 Competition Package car came to us for the full works on the exterior prior to leaving the NY/NJ for a new life in the southwestern part of the country.
The best part is the car came to us cleaned up so there isn't much for us to show in the prep except for the quick wash and decon. We tested out the Sonax Fallout Remover for the decon step, a new product we hope to have in 2014. Since the car spent all of its life in the tristate we expected the usual: fallout, rail dust, and various contaminants.

We also used the Sonax Multi Star on this car, on the motor, bug and tar, as well as cleaning up the tires.

- Wheels were prepped with Sonax Wheel Cleaner and cleaned up with various brushes

What did you use on the "shadow-line" trim, Phil?
Thanks

He usually uses whatever compound/polish that is used on the paint, on the shadowline trim if I remember correctly. The only way to get those deep defects out, I know what you mean because you probably have similar stains as me!

I used Meguiars D300 with my PC last year on the trim and it got better, but I bought some Menzerna FG400 from Phil this year and plan to tackle it again for my winter detail. I think the trick is using the small 3" backing plate he sells, with the smaller pads its able to concentrate more correcting action on those pillars/trim areas.

Hope that helps but I will wait for Phil @ DD to chime in too!
