Obviously, we get more dust in the fronts. But I think I'm willing to wait for Hawk/Tirerack to make/sell them since the cost is almost 50% less.
Rears are easy to find. There are NO BLANKS for the fronts. This is why we need to have them made. You will be waiting a while for D1294 blanks. It is already into the 3rd model year and nothing yet. It is pretty cheap IMO for clean and non-corroded wheels, but that is just me.

Members,

If you want in on the group buy please PM me. For those that have already sent me their response please make contact with Carbotech per my response PM. To date only one person has followed through with the order. If we do not have at least 5 sets of pads this group buy will not be possible. So again please make contact with Carbotech. If you have lost the info I sent please send me another PM and I will get it to you ASAP. Thank you for your understanding and let's hope we can make this work.

Looks like this Group but is dead at the moment. Only a couple of the interested members have committed. Sorry guys. Thank you to the members that made the commitment.

Vendor has contacted me and has indicated the pads should be ready for us in 3-4 weeks.

Hi Fellas,

Well I have now done 7,500Klm in my X5 and have to admit that the brake pads have gotten better as they have worn in. I have less brake dust now than when I first put these pads on.

During our winter months if you could say that Brisbane actually gets a winter (we don't get much rain in the winter - sub tropical area) the best I got was I drove the car for 4 weeks without a wash and the wheels were like if you had the standard pads but had washed the car a day or so ago.

I would have to say this is the best money I have ever spent on a X5 mod!

Good news for everyone that ordered these pads, Mike Jr. at Carbotech said they are being manufactured right now. For those members that were on the list you can call Mike starting on Monday and give him your shipping info. Thanks to everyone that participated and your patience.

Hi Denalio,

Thats good news, I have now done 11,000klms and everything is fine. These pads actually get cleaner as they wear in.

Everyone that buys them should be happy, give them a little time to wear in and also bed them in as per the instructions, this may take a little longer on rotors that have already had pads installed. My pads went on when the car was new.
