I'm not taking the piss here, what diff is there between 'normal' and 'winter' wheels?
Our coldest day in winter is about 12deg C. Dubs |

Dubs,
It's mainly to have an extra set of wheels in which to mount winter tires on. You should be able to run summer or all seasons year round. But for some of us where it gets well below 0 degrees C and snowy, we need to remove the 20" summer tires.

Tirerack has a bunch of good info on the safety benefits of winter tires in snowy/icy conditions ... here's one video comparison of winter vs. all seasons: All-Season vs. Winter / Snow Tires
