I hope that I am in the right place for this. I am working on a project that uses the electric water pump from the X5 and X3 and other vehicles. The pump has a connection that has four pins on it. One pin comes from the fuse panel. Another is termed a BSD Bus wire and there is one from the DME. The last one is ground since the pump is rubber mounted. I am interested in what the BSD and the DME wires do. More specifically do these wires turn on and off the pump while the engine is off in order to cool the motor?
