Where do you buy your parts?

Where do you guys buy your parts? I own 2 BMW's (one is a 2007 335i and the other is a 2016 X5 M), do all of the maintenance myself including replacing parts. I usually buy online because the prices are cheaper but have used the dealer before when time was a factor.

What are your go-to part sites? My favorite (usually because of the prices and service) are http://www.realoem.com and https://www.bmwdiscountparts.com, but maybe you guys have found better choices.

Also, does anybody have experience with a dealer willing to install legit BMW parts that were purchased online? There have been several times when I started a repair and half way through realized that it was going to take way more time than estimated. In both of these instances, I would've rather just paid a dealer/independent BMW mechanic to finish the repair.

Thanks, I've heard good things about ECS but haven't ordered from them. I'll have to check them out for my next purchase.

Make sure the item is in stock before ordering with ECS.

I saw this and wasn't sure about posting because it was so old, but if someone else already did the grave digging, I figured I'd ask/add.

I miss BAVAUTO.COM! Bavarian Autosport was an absolute dream! I built a half dozen cars from their parts, and the oem parts they sold. Now that they're gone (and redirecting to ecstuning.com) I find myself looking at ..... *cringe* ebay and amazon. I did notice that ecs tuning does sell a lot of the same stuff that bav used to, I'm just leary about buying from a place I don't know without the backing of a company like ebay or amazon. If I order parts from an online place I don't know, and they decide not to send me my $700 ecu, I'm screwed. If I order from ebay, and the seller don't send my ecu, ebay will protect me.

I guess my real question is, has anyone ordered from ECS Tuning? I'm really curious because the prices look close to what bav used to offer for the same parts.

I had an order set up at BavAuto and before I pulled the trigger it was bought by ECS Tuning. No problems with ECS, parts for my transmission flush, filter and sleeve replacement. Definitely would order from them again.

I ordered my CV boot stuff from FCP because they had a few misc small parts I needed that ECS didn't. Had to make $59 to get free shipping.

I own BMW X5, and prefer to do all of the maintenance on my own including replacing parts. I normally buy parts and accessories from an online store known as Ritecoupons. Ritecoupons offers Money saving coupons that help me to save my money and all the parts are original or from best dealers.
