Only the dealer can speak for the warranty, but we do 22"'s all the time. With the correct wheel, you'll be fine. You may want to get some stronger brake pads, however, as the stock pads were made with the lighter 17" wheels in mind.

Not quite true. BMW use the same pads and rotors on the X5 regardless if your X5 was shipped with 17", 18", or 19" wheels/tires from the factory. Only the 4.6is/4.8is get slightly larger front pads/rotors for their 20" paws. I would definitely look into getting a large brake kit to help with the added unsprung weight of the 22s. It will certainly help with the aesthetic as well since the 22s will make the OEM calipers/rotors look puny. See how tiny the rotor/caliper appeared when wrapped in 22s.

Call your dealer. I called mine and they said wheels are fine. Keep in mind that if a bearing goes out or whatever they may blame the wheels.

Hey bro, sorry I didn't get a chance to reply to you PM, been pretty busy lately.

When I changed the wheels, the brakes did feel a lot different. It took longer to stop, and took some time to get used too. Don't get me wrong, the brakes still do their job, and are great, but with the stock 18's, the brakes felt much stronger, and stopped the vehicle quicker.

Haha, yeah I need a BBK. I actually spoke with UUC Motorwerks, and they're coming out with a Performance Brake Kit (PBK), that uses Wilwood Brake Components. They use the same size rotors as stock, but come with a beefy caliper, which is what I really want. The main advantage of the PBK is that it's a lot cheaper than the other alternatives such as Stoptech and Brembo, and is perfect for street use, as well as the track. Also, it's VERY easy to change pads, they literally slide in and out, and should take less than a half hour to change all four pads!

Here's a pic of how easy it is to change pads. The 4 piston will be standard, and Rob said the 6-piston should also be available!

Wow I want to see more about the UUC kit. I have 22''s on my X5 and I do notice a slight decrease in braking performance.

I wonder how much this kit will be?
