Jacking Point
I jacked the car up using what I believe is a section of steel frame. Its about 4 inches long by 1.5 inches wide by 1/2 inch deep. It's forward of the front axel in the center of the car. When youstick your head below the front of the car it juts down. Plan was to lift car high enough and fit jack stands at each side of the car. Call me paranoid but just want to check no possibility of damage. |

the proper jack points are behind the front wheel and in front of the rear wheels. Check your owner's manual

That sounds like you nailed it...
For the rear, most of us have used the suspension arm, close in to the rear diff., and I've even used the rear diff., a time or two. Trick is to use a malleable piece of old plywood as a buffer pad between the arm or diff and your jack head. Use stands if you are going under or banging hard on the wheel removal process. Don't even think about going under with just a floor jack in place, imo. GL,mD

I think the OP was referring to using a floor jack not the
tire changing jack that comes with the car. |
