EBC or Brembo (4.6is)

Of all the links I have read, people say both are great. But is there much of a difference between the two besides $50?
Also, Since the 4.4i and the 4.6is have 12.8" rear rotors, does it matter which ones you order. EBC says the 4.6is rear rotors cost 251.10, while the 4.4i rear's cost 199.13.
I think for the Brembo's (rear), all models are listed at 205.95.

All prices according to http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/se...294967011+6854

Anyways, I would much appreciate some insight and I thank you in advance.

Unless you plan on taking your 4.6is on a racetrack, there is no need to change the brakes. The OEM brakes are more more than adequate to stop you in any kind of driving style and any driving conditions. Personally I would spend that money elsewhere. Brembos are not cheap!

Now if you're doing it for looks or for tracking your X5, that's a different story...

i'd get larger brakes if i were upgrading to 20+" rims. There's a reason why the 4.6 and 4.8 have larger brakes/calipers...

Replacement rotors will not change your braking performance. They will look good with the cross drilled look, but thats pretty much all they will do.

Replacement Brembo rotors are very diff then the rotors they supply with their big brake kits.

If you want better brake performance, get a good set of pads, SS lines, and better brake fluid. If you got the cash, get a true BBK.

The 4.6is rear rotors and the 4.4 are different. The 4.6is calipers are wider due to the venting.

I have them up front and I love the look!!! Get them!! I bought SP's:

http://www.sp-performance.com/drilled.htm

I saw these on Ebay recently. They look decent:

If you really want to do it right you should powder coat your calipers:
