One thing to note is that V5 seating position is lower than R-class but higher than 5er. The high seating position makes R-class look like a minivan.

This pic was originally in Auto Zietung magazine. This is most probably their best computer generated guess based on what they have heard about the V5. We will see a lot of changes till its release late next year.

Hey BMW, can you go back to making sports sedans and coupes and quit it with the crossovers?

Oh hush it was my dad's choice. Now he wants to give it to me and I'm like no way. If he's not driving it then we're trading it for a 328i or selling it.

(I will miss everything but the styling though if we do part with it )

From the Article:

I don't understand.......What does "4 seats with 5th seat only provisional" mean? The whole idea of the V5 or the RFK from day 1 was that it was supposed to be a 6 seater at the minimum and perhaps even a 7 seater (a "people mover" as they first called it). The way I read the above seems to indicate that it is a 4 seater (5 at best)??? I don't think that will be the case....what is the point of a big roomy space functional vehicle (aka people mover) if it only seats 4 or 5 people? Am I reading it wrong, or does it actually mean 4 to 5 seats? Maybe that is the description of the X6 coupe's seating capacity.

From this concept photo and description, they have moved away from the people mover concept, and, as the text says, are aiming at a luxury sports cruiser, blending touring/coupe/luxury sedan. No mention of van. It is more luxurious ( more $$$, more unit profit) than 5 touring.

I think there is a market for it. It will be interesting to see where it ends up.

That's too bad. We need a car that seats more than 5 to replace our E53 X5 with. The way the E70 looks it is hard to believe the third row seats would have much functionality, and if they are utilized there would be zero cargo room. I was hoping the RFK V5 would have been the solution we were looking for, but now I am not so sure.
