Interesting perspective. Personally I think they are over thinking car design by introducing new car 'segments' rather than car models. Did you listen to the guy on the video? They sought to create a car that sat higher then a sedan but lower than an SUV?! Are you kidding me? Isn't that what the AMC Eagle was back then? I don't expect BMW to score a 10 with every model it introduces, no manufacturer can claim that one, but this is just crazy.

Actually, now I know what it looks like, it reminds me of Tony Russel's 'Nancy' and that was an exotic car that really succeeded on its looks!

To me, it looks ridiculous in every way and I'd take a station wagon any day of the week over this thing.

This car has a very strange profile. The front is not bad at all and I think that will translate nicely on the new 5-er, but overall this is one of the ugliest BMW's in a long time. They have actually found a way to make the X6 uglier and more feminine. They combined it with a Prius and AMC Eagle.

Don't know about ugly but its feminine because BMW wanted it to be.
Its designed for female target market, specially with kids and ones who do shopping.

Not when you look in person. Its longer than 5-series. Prius is a toy compared to this.

The difference from X6 is that in X6 the roof start sloping above drivers head and 5 GT it starts center of passenger cabin behind driver. So more head room in back than X6.

It didn't make a good first impression for me. I think the color and aspects of the interior are to blame. I'll have another look later and see if it grows on me. Don't think it's going to though.

LeMans, that is like Vanilla Ice saying his rift for Ice Ice Baby wasn't stolen from David Bowie. This thing looks just like an X6, only smushed, slightly stretched and on more feminine sedan wheels. I absolutely love BMW's and wouldn't purchase any other brand, but this car is ugly and built to please older women who can't get into a sedan or climb into an SUV. I will give new BMW designs credit where it is due, like your thread on the new 6-series, but this car is horrible and definately cheapens the BMW brand, IMO. THey went from the ultimate driving machine to the ultimate seat height, womens shopping/grocery getting machine. They are losing focus.

Funny part about that is I can see mom's all over mid-America lining up to take the kids to soccer practice driving a car with rims like this!!?!?
