2003 745i Sport

My brother is thinking about trading his 2002 S430 for a 2003 745i Sport. He's bored and just wants something new. Are there any 7er experts in the house who can give me some pointers to pass along?

Thanks!

In laws have a "quarter 'til" and love it. It is the year with the 7yr / 100K warranty. Gas milage is wonderful too.

My brother is on his 4th 7 (2006 750Li). Loves it. I need to check with him on what builds to stay away from. BMW bought one back from him (2003??745Li) due to all the glitches. I'll let you know.

Thanks Laura. I remember that '02 was a very bad year for BMW as many dealers were buying back 7ers.

I must say as a E65 hater that the 750's are quite nice and a pretty good deal for that level of luxury and performance, at least compared to M-B.

It might have been an '02 then. It was one of the first off the line of the new 745s. They replaced it with the next model year and it was trouble free.

Definitely stay away from the '02. Three of my friends have the first year model, nothing but trouble. I think most of the problems were solved in the '03 models.

I think either the '03s or '04s had very nice 19" V-spoke rims or something with the sport package. The earlier ones just had the boring (IMO) rims like the SP 750li rims you see now. And they look very nice when chromed too.....

Like others have said, stay away from the '02s......lots of problems there. Or consider a 2001 740i sport.......my personal choice.

Kev -
It was an '02, replaced by an '03. There were issues with the early '03 also.
