That's just it. I haven't used it once. Well, once but that was to register it when I just got the car.

It is your call.
That's the only reason I am even considering it but I am not too worried about that happening and certainly not in a secluded area where no one would around to call it in.

Yup. BMW changed it right after I got mine. I'm coming up on the 1 year anniversary as I took delivery on June 7, 2006. 7800 miles and counting.

jesus, you drive just a little as me

I got my a day earlier though, knock on wood

Idk, I'd do it for those things, and like BB said, its generally when you don't have it that you actually need it. gl with your decision.

BMW Assist Safety Plan
$199 for something that could potentially save your life... sounds like a no brainer to me. Cell phones don't work everywhere and for less than $17 a month it's a cheap way to get peace of mind.

What, your 330i has less miles than SuperGreg's X5?!

I'd keep it for the peace of mind ... God forbid something happens to your car, an accident or theft, BMW assist will pick up on it. It might have been overkill, but I got the concierge package as well. Since my E60 doesn't have RTI, I can call and get traffic info before I pick the route I want to drive. They even make restaurant recommendations and reservations for you

In the UK we don't get the stolen vehicle retrieval service. That makes it not worth the money in my opinion. If you want something similar you need to subscribe to a third party provider.

It is and it isn't
whereas your phone is digital high-quality based, the Assist uses AMPS, a far less "crystal clear" however has coverage 99.99% of the time, even if you are in the mountains of northern Montana or on I-10 in Texas.
LSS, its a low frequency emergency band which is great for when you really, really need it.
