LeMansX5 has a spectacular aura aboutLeMansX5 has a spectacular aura aboutLeMansX5 has a spectacular aura about
BMW 135i vs. Porsche Cayman S and 911

Some crazy comparison

BMW 135i
6-cylinder turbo engine
3.0-litres
306 PS at 5,800 rpm
400 Nm at 1,300 rpm
102.7 PS/litre
RWD
6-speed manual
Bridgestone Potenza RE05A tyres
215/40 R 18 and 245/35 R 18 in front/rear
MSRP: 38,950 EUR

1548 kg
196 bhp/ton
0-100 km/h in 5.3 secs.
0-160 km/h in 12.1 secs.
0-200 km/h in 19.6 secs.
Vmax: limited to 250 km/h

Hockenheim short track: 1:17.4 mins.
18 m slalom track: 69.4 km/h
100-0 km/h in 35.3/35.5 m with cold and warm brakes
200-0 km/h in 139.5 m with warm brakes
av. fuel consumption: 13.6 litres/100 km
________________________________________________

Porsche Cayman S
6-cylinder boxer engine
3.4-litres
295 PS at 6,250 rpm
340 Nm at 4,400 rpm
87.1 PS/litre
RWD
6-speed manual
Michelin Pilot Sport tyres
235/40 ZR 19 and 265/35 ZR 19 in front/rear
MSRP: 60,303 EUR

1416 kg
208.33 bhp/ton
0-100 km/h in 5.5 secs.
0-160 km/h in 12.3 secs.
0-200 km/h in 19.1 secs.
Vmax: 285 km/h

Hockenheim short track: 1:15.8 mins.
18 m slalom track: 71.8 km/h
100-0 km/h in 38.1/35.5 m with cold and warm brakes
200-0 km/h in 135.9 m with warm brakes
av. fuel consumption: 13.9 litres/100 km

Verdict:
Both score 46 out of 60 pts., what makes the difference?

The BMW 135i shows as much potential as the Porsche Cayman when it comes to accerlation, braking etc ...

But both have different characters, the BMW 135i is not as sporty as the Cayman S as you can see at the hanling track and the Hockenheim short track, when it comes to driving dynamics the 135 cannot beat the Cayman.

Not sure why they even compared the two...

Crazy for sure. A Porsche buyer is not going to go "wow a BMW 1er".

More craziness....Autobild compares with 911.

"A Porsche loves curves, the BMW masters it. That is the difference!"
