Hybrid vehicles, currently, are about the equivalent of recycling paper. Everybody is told it is a good thing and helps the environment. So they get that nice little feel good warm and fuzzy. But no one ever looks at the pre-post processes. The part where the dye is stripped from the paper and remanufactured which actually is more environmentally harmful and more expensive as far as resources go, then regular paper.
IMO, there is FAR to little actual science behind some of these environmentalist motives. I'd much rather we focused on cleaner more fuel efficient gas motors right now, then hybrids. Until of course they can build an all electric motor. Then we can debate power grid issues, developing electricity via coal or Nuclear technology...and liberals and eco-Nazis can then have fun with that topic. Either way, we lose..Al Gore's win
