new mini 4x4

BMW announced the arrival of the Mini Countryman available with 4 wheel drive and 5 doors , at last , a sensible design .

Not the first 4wd Mini, that would have been the Mini Moke twini, which accomplished the AWD goal with twin engines.

It didn't work out, due to lack of ground clearance.

I like the Clubman, partly because it respects the heritage of the design. The various crossover concepts (apparently a beach buggy is in the works) just seem to lose that design integrity.
