For some reason Silverstone looks horrible on the E9x M3s, yet in these pictures of the X5M, it looks great. Its probably just the light.

I'm probably still going with space grey, however, I wish it was a little lighter in color because it looks a little "plain-jane" for my taste.
When I was considering what color car I wanted I had to make a compromise. I decided to not get the color I like most and went for the color I think the car looks best in.

What I mean is, Black is hot, hard to keep clean and generally not that evoking but beautiful when clean and classic.. I like silver cars because they look great and are easy to keep looking clean and I also like white.

But truth be told, because of the design elements BMW took with the X5M, the only color I thought it looked really good in was black.. Except for the pictures of that titanium silver one which unfortunately isn't offered..

I did the similar thing, but with a different result. My favorite color was Red, and I found the Platinum Bronze with Tobacco pleasingly unique, but after seeing the colors "in the flesh," I decided that Space Gray fit the X5 best, considering the overall look and the black trim/bumpers.

So I ordered the Space Gray.

But color choices are all personal preference... after all, there were at least a few people who purchased Urban Green Z4's back in 2004.

The pictures you are talking about are silverstone II metallic, not titanium silver! Titanium silver is not offered in any market, not even in Europe...so I highly doubt there are pics of that color posted anywhere. I also checked the BMW Germany website. It is not even offered as one of the M individual colors just as with the M5. I think silverstone looks great on the M5, haven't seen it on the X yet...

I saw Silverstone on an X5M yesterday...

I can promise you.. It didn't look like that car in the picture of that article...
So if the car in the picture is Silverstone, then that picture has been altered n post production..

That ebay listing of X5 M is Silverstone. I think you saw that already. Lighting is deceiving you.

For me, I want to pick a color that is not going to be available for the regular x5. Withthe facelift coming with the big air dams and such it may become may difficultto pick the m apart from the rest of the crowd.

That is why I was looking for imola or lemans when I bought my 4.8is

so I guess I will pick from the m only colors.

Exactly why I got LeMans blue. Monte Carlo blue is similar to Estoril blue but the big black air dams in bumper ruins the look. Therefore I prefer the dark color.
And yes, the facelift X5 will also have X6 like air dams in bumper.

Silverstone II is hard to photograph. It can change from something close to Titanium Silver (bright sunlight) to a quite blue color (cloudy). While I was waiting for my M3, I had many second thoughts but haven't once regretted it since I have had it. The color is unique but more subtle than some of the other M colors.
