Arrow Exhaust Comparo: E53 X5 4.8is vs. E70 X5 ///M

I have had over 60 miles behind the wheels of X5 ///M by now. Love the machine. Here is the exhaust sound comparo. The X5 ///M exhaust sound is with M button on. Enjoy and let know which one is better.

Weasel will become famous soon enough
Well, the 4.8is is deeper and throatier, sounds more like domestic muscle. The X5M sounds more like a race tuned machine. I'm waiting for the Ms to be past the break in period and see some good full throttle videos pop up for the full effect.

I'm waiting to see the guys at top gear get their hands on one as well.

Agreed, it will be fun to see what the top gear guys do with one of the X5 M's!! I think the exhaust on the M sounds great. Definitely more of a tuned sound where as the 4.8 is deep and throaty.

You can call it a "tuned" sound, but I personally like the deep throaty sound a lot better. Unfortunately, 4.4l with turbos is just too small an engine to produce a deep V8 sound.

However the upside is that it's an ///M... ...i'm sure some owners will end up modding their exhaust, just as X5 "iS" owners removed the resonator amongst other exhaust mods.

I'll save someone some time - you need this to open .mov files:
Apple - QuickTime - Download

Re the sound - horse apiece.. For me, better to be a little less loud - this w/b my daily.
