steering wheel paddle shifter Question!

Do the paddle shifter + and - Light up at night just like they do in an M6?

That sucks, BMW does not pay attention to the details anymore.

That would be a nice little touch.

i'am sure it was not that complicated to do, and it blows my mind why they did not do it.

I can't believe this does not bother enough people on this forum.

Would it be too hard to have the shifters just like the M6?

It bothers me a little - this type of car should have these little details as part of the production, especially in this price bracket. How much more could this cost? I would have paid more on the vehicle if it was simply passed on in the MSRP. I also have a new 2010 VW GTI with the DSG and the paddle shifters are backlit (in red) on that $30k car.

Hmmmmmm......

I think otherwise.

I am not overly interested in much that does not contribute to the driving experience (yes, my M3 has cosmetic mods.....). Whether the paddles are lit or unlit doesn't matter to me much, if any. The tactile aspect is important, and here, I think BMW have done well - the paddles fit well, and have a positive action. I know which is "+", and which is "-", and don't have much interest in gazing lovingly at paddles that glow in the dark, or are otherwise needlessly adorned, to be honest.
I think BMW made the right decision in NOT having the paddles lit. Being lit does not add to the driving experience per se, at least in my opinion.

Just my two cents!

I'am having a hard time seeing your point.

you know where are all the buttons on a steering wheel as well, but when they are lit that makes it more visible and functional i guess.

These little touches are the only difference between BMW interior and VW or Porsche, Interior of these cars are much nicer then BMW.

These detailes would make X5 more desirable for everyone, imagine having BMW handling and power with better lit cabin

I find our X's little borring from inside

Just my opinion

Also, shift lights to tell you to shift at redline would be nice too! Can't believe it's missing... or am I not seeing it?
