Disagreed - "bragging" with no bragging in the post? "Overpriced" when Lumma is competitively priced with Hamaan, G-power, and Mansory? Dude, are you serious? Last edited by donibm; 01-05-2011 at 12:05 AM. |

Those are Lumma eyelids. To my knowledge, only Lumma make them (most eyelids that you see on the X5 and X6 come from Lumma). I seriously doubt that they have them for the E53.

Sobi posted some eyelids that he found for the E35 pre-facelift X5 a few years back in two different styles...an eyelid only and then one that wrapped the entire headlight light those cheesy eBay chrome taillight covers. The plain eyelids looked ok, but I never researched them more.

Their taillight pricing is ridiculous though...that's like 2-3x as much as the exact some ones found on eBay.

I agree about the side skirts. Isn't ebay primarily for individual sellers though? Prices should be cheaper. |

Wet sand: 2000 Dish washing liquid NHT Nightshade (pepboys or maybe autozone) A {{good}} clear coat spray Rubbing alcohol I taped the white strip, sanded the lens down (using dishwashing liquid and H2O), put 1 coat of nightshade, then a 2nd, then a 3rd. I lightly snaded that down the same way as I did the first sand, then I applied 4 coats of clear. Color is perfect, but the texture is not. So, I've decided to have the shop that will be doing all of my major mods (Doral Collision Center - Quality, Seamless Auto Body repair, who now owns Exclusive Motoring Gallery - Specializing in Custom wheels, rims and bodykits for your automobile.) salvage it and do it again ($480) because I'd rather have a stronger sheen on the clear coat that spray paint just cannot create. Everyone likes it, I just want it to be "perfect". Point is - YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF. But my car is ultimately going to be a show car, so, I'll need better hands working on it. MAJOR PROBLEM (well, kinda): my gaskets melted in the two center taillights (on hatch). When they melt, the filter becomes like TAR and it gets everywhere and is very, very hard to remove from the car and skin. And I'm no so trusting of GooGone (there is no mention of it being clear coat friendly). BNMW does not sell the gasket separate. So, I'll have to purchase those two ones anyway. I simply brought some bonding tape and created my own gasket for temporary measures. But it took a good 3-4 hours cleaning that crap up. So, be prepared... |
