We have dirty pics threads.

I agree it is NOT the snow that chips paint.
But with snow comes SALT and SAND. The snow causes the salt and sand to cling to the sipes in the snow tires and it throws it onto the painted areas. Like an abrasive snow maker
Has anyone who uses the Factory Snow tire/wheel set up have an issue???
Those are thinner 19's. Maybe they do not stick out as far?
Its seems most guys use the factory 20's and install monster snows on them that stick out as far as the summer tires.

Either way, I am taking my chances. i usually do not own a vehicle that long. I remember laughing at my buddy when he bought a new porsche turbo cab. he had it extensively 3M'ed. he kept telling me how the paint will look new when he removes it and so on. Then he sells the car in 5 months.

Very nice, I am still trying to decide if my next one will be Space gray or Silverstone. As for 3m, It doesnt snow much here in Seattle and they dont use salt on the road but I still 3m'd the lower rockers and half way up the rear wheel lip and it has worked beautifully. at 21K miles still looks new.

enjoy.

Tough decision.

Don ho

If you choose unwisely and not 3M You'll end up repainting your flares and your paint job will never be as good as factory.

All roads have debris=sandblasting=unhappy customer.

You try to sell it in 5 month without 3Ming it and you will be taken to the cleaners. Search this site. I had mine 3 months without 3M and the paint was COMPLETELY remove from the rear fender. Your choice. I have of the truck 3M'd. Nobody can even tell that it has 3M film on it.

Congrats on the new ride and very nice color choice. You now have enough torque and horsepower to pull about 50 box cars and a caboose.

OK, you have me convinced
I have seen the areas that require it on the computer shaded in areas. But can you or anyone who has had it done, post actual pics of their cars, so I can show the person who is doing the 3M what are the exact areas that need it? and the thickness for each particular area?

any recommendation in NJ?

I used them 5 years ago when I was in that 'hood. Their work is still holding up. They do lots of BMW's, Merc's, and high end cars.
