Break in period (M-button)

How many of you guys followed the break in procedures and not used the M button or went over 4k before 1,000miles??

I followed the published breakin proceedures for mine not to exceed 5500 rpm's and to vary the engine speed. I used the M button sparingly during the break in period just didn't fully step into it. My truck is fine. I do not recall it saying anywhere not to use the M button. You got to get in it a little to help break the engine in just don't drive it like it's stolen.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but M mode just makes the throttle more responsive. Meaning, if you're in M mode and you push the accelerator halfway, the throttle mapping makes it more like 75%. I would say if you push the accelerator 75% of WOT, it's like WOT in non-M mode.

I played around with M mode a lot during break in as I don't recall it stating anywhere not to use M mode. However, I did wait til I hit exactly 1200 miles before I tested out the launch control.
